Concept Design
Our Client engaged us to deliver an extensive renovation & extension to their existing acreage property, south-east of Brisbane, so that they could stay in an area they love for the longer term.
Our key design approach was to respectfully add to, and tie-in, with the existing home & its surrounds.
The new aspects of the design reflect the characteristics of luxury & sophistication, crafted in a way that seek to add value to an incredible site.
Below: A new pool pavilion provides shade & shelter, facing the beautiful north-facing yard.
Below: A new entry gesture is provided to signify the arrival point & front door.
Below: A new parents entertaining zone complete with wine cellar has been incorporated.
Below: A new kids wing & rumpus room with library is proposed around a new lush landscaped courtyard.
Below: A renovated Master Suite comprises a crafted material palette including quality joinery detailing, travertine stone & fluted glass in the Ensuite.

After a false start with another architect who wasn’t very interested in our design style & preference, we were given the name of Folar Studio. Although James is a pro at the contemporary design style, he was willing to meet with us & fulfill our dream of an old world European style home.
I had some very definite thoughts & dreams for our home and James was always so positive & listened to all of my ideas & thoughts & helped me see them come to life in his drawings. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him he was always so pleasant & would help me troubleshoot things that wouldn’t quite work. He also had a great team behind the scenes helping him bring our home to life.
