Paddington House | Brisbane

Concept Phase

Our client approached us seeking to add value to their existing residence, which has incredible city views.

Drawing on the Client's experience of world travel, inspiration came from Mediterranean outdoor living and the idea of the cabana as a retreat and shelter. This was then applied to an under-utilised terrace, the golden opportunity for this site.

A moveable shade canopy structure is proposed to open and close, responding to the harsh sun path over the existing terrace, creating a functional and visually changing space from the street.

The other 'moving piece' of this project are the vertical shutters to the external decks on the upper levels, providing privacy from neighbours when closed, while also allowing cross ventilation in the warmer seasons when opened.

New Farm Interior

We recently had the pleasure of working with James to develop the design for our Queensland worker’s cottage renovation.

James impressed us with his ability to blend the old with the new in his design while meeting the practical requirements for modern family life. His eye for detail, excellent organisation, communication and project management skills, professionalism, and ability to create beautiful, livable spaces on a budget, have impressed us immensely.

We would not hesitate to recommend James to anyone looking to build or renovate their home.
