Crafted For Impact.

The project is set within one of Brisbane’s most significant heritage landmarks - the former Bank of NSW on the corner of George & Queen Streets in the Brisbane CBD.
The design introduces a contemporary retail environment that engages respectfully with its historic context. References to the traditional Queenslander and the warm, earthy tones of the nearby Kangaroo Point cliffs inform the interior palette, creating a dialogue between past and present.

A new timber batten stair connects the ground & mezzanine levels.
An intricate timber grid ceiling has been introduced to bring diffuse light deep into the space through opaque ceiling panels & angled can lights.

The original Bank of NSW counters have been retained to maintain the heritage character of the building.

The point of sale is emphasised via integrated lighting of the fluted glass front & timber counter. Timber veneer wraps the interior of the retail space.

What our clients are saying...
Kellie & Scott
-Our clients for Currumbin Valley House
James and his team at Folar are absolutely fantastic. Very approachable and really listened to us to help create our dream home design. We consider ourselves fussy and James has made the whole experience completely stress free. We had previously used a Building Designer/Draftsman to save on fees & this time decided to invest in an Architect - the outcome speaks for itself!
He really listens and we've enjoyed every step of the journey.
