The site masterplan was an important consideration for this project.

Firstly we proposed raising the existing home and building a new living space below that flows out to the north-facing backyard.

The pool has been located so that it is framed by key views within the house.

The Client's interest in indoor-outdoor living are expressed in the flow & layout of the home.

The materials compliment one another and different heights and volumes within add to the experience & spatial quality.

Above: Concept Sketch. The key emphasis is on the indoor to outdoor connection.

Below: A timber batten screen helps define the entry on arrival.

Above: The sunken lounge emphasises the direct flow to the rear yard.

The different volumes of space work to create a sense of drama over the Living area and the focus towards the rear landscaped yard.

The north-facing yard & outdoor room have direct visibility to the pool.

The outdoor terrace connects easily to the kitchen and has an aspect to the pool.

What our clients are saying...

Len & Stacey
-Our clients for Lower Bowen Terrace

After some time searching for an Architect that understood our vision for our bespoke New Farm development, we decided to work with Folar Studio for our project.

We have found FOLAR to be very professional and informative for our consultations, & as our project is a major renovation, we have been very impressed with James and his team on presenting us with several design options, for the unique combination of a 1925 home and a 1950's squash court.

This initial engagement has confirmed our decision to engage FOLAR  for the complete design process of our home.
