Our design for Ascot House involved a considered & respectful design response to a character home in Brisbane's inner suburbs.
The Client Brief was to modify the existing Kitchen, Bathroom, Master Suite & add a Pool House to the rear yard. New chevron timber flooring, full re-painting & a fresh update to the external areas was included.

To enhance the subtropical feel of the existing pool area, we proposed new travertine tiles & a bold concrete planter to cross the pool. An existing roofed area was also enclosed with sliding doors & new bathroom to create a separate granny flat for the house.

The existing Kitchen was given a full makeover. The positions of the sink & ovens were maintained to help reduce cost.

The Kitchen was enhanced with a new stone & timber-look joinery. The island was conceived as a block of stone carved out to make allowance for seating.

The existing bathroom was fully gutted & replaced. We also borrowed some space from an adjacent unused storage cupboard to re-work the layout, creating a new laundry for the home.

The main bathroom utilises the same stone & cabinetry finish as the Kitchen to create a similar theme in the design across the home.

We reviewed the floor plan with our client to make the most of excess space next the existing Master Bedroom to create a new walk-in-robe space.
The robe provides space for shoe shelves, long hanging & short hanging, as well as a make-up desk.

Our clients for Lower Bowen House
"After some time searching for an Architect that understood our vision for our bespoke New Farm development, we decided to work with Folar Studio for our initial concepts.
We have found FOLAR to be very professional and informative for our consultations, & as our project is a major renovation, we have been very impressed with James and his team on presenting us with several design options, for the unique combination of a 1925 home and a 1950's brick building at the rear of our property".
The house has been designed to sit prominently on its site.
